Therapeutic Supervision

A Precious Help for the Therapist

Supervision is a formal arrangement for therapists to discuss their work regularly with someone who is experienced in both therapy and supervision. The task is to work together to ensure and develop the efficacy of the therapist/patient relationship. The supervisions that we propose have three objectives, depending on the needs and expectations of the supervisee:

a) Assistance in dealing with clinical situations that pose a problem for the supervisee (functional analysis, conceptualization of cases, therapeutic approach);

b) Individual training of the supervisee based on the difficulties actually encountered in practice (resumption and development of theoretical and practical knowledge, reading advice);

c) A reflection on the behaviors, emotions, and thoughts of the supervised therapist in reaction to the behaviors and emotions of the patient, in order to improve practice and fight against burnout. This work on what the therapist experiences and how he can best move forward with his personal psychological events only concerns what is related to therapy (it is not a therapist's therapy).

The general aim of supervision is to increase the skills and knowledge of the supervisee, to improve the integration of their psychological processes, and to contribute to the development of more effective therapies. Each supervision is adapted to the knowledge of the supervisee, after a common evaluation. The diversity of clinical situations studied and the objectives of supervision make the work of supervision profitable whatever your level of ACT training.
Whether you are new to an introductory workshop, have acquired knowledge through readings, or are more experienced, you will benefit from contextualized instruction, resolution of complex situations, and use examples.
